The talking point that the Common Core State Standards are just standards has been debated regarding its truthfulness.  The standards are tied to teacher evaluations via student assessment results and data tracking of both teachers and students.  The argument that they are not ‘just standards’ is increasingly challenged as teachers and parents understand that ‘what is taught is tested’.  The standards are an integral component of the assessments.  The concern for many parents is that the curriculum will be dictated by the assessments, which are being driven by the standards.

If you run across tweets, op-eds, back to school PTA CCSS ‘informational’ sheets stating that the CCSS are ‘just standards’, you can inform them that they are ‘misinformed’.
